GEORGE'S CORNER (the biography highlights)
George McMorrow, having been a staple on the New Jersey Shore music scene for years, decided to figure out a way to utilize all the great, unsigned music that was around. He created a company that specializes in providing musicians the ability to market their music nationally to movie and television soundtracks.

George has had an amazing career. He managed the legendary rock and roll club " Big Man's West" which was owned by none other than "The Big Man", Clarence Clemons.

George is on the board of directors of " The Jersey Shore Music and Arts Coalition" a nonprofit organization focused to promote and educate local musicians and artists.

George was one of the first people to promote original music in the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ.

He produced the first two Holiday Hurrah concerts in Red Bank, NJ.

The first concert included performances by Southside Johnny, Nils Lofgren, Bruce Springsteen, John Eddie and the front street runners, Patti Scialfa, Garry Tallent, Carolyn Mas, Diamonds, Ernest "Boom" Carter, and various other Jersey Shore talents.

The second year's concert sold out in a record 20 minutes, with a two-ticket limit per person. The show included Joe Piscipo (Saturday Night Live) as the MC. Paul Schafer (David Letterman) as the musical director. Featuring performances by Steven Van Zant, Darlene Love, Brian Setzer, Southside Johnny and a whole who's who of "Jersey Shore Talent".

After attending NYU for film editing, George has broadened his scope of talent.  He is currently editing a film for Director Doug Bollinger. Their last mutual project was "Just Lovers" with Bollinger Directing and George as the Music Supervisor. The film won "Best Score in a Feature Film" and "Best Film Noir" in the New York International Film and Video Festival.

Look out for two movies that George supplied music to, "Scream Queen" and "St Andrew's Girls" both are LA productions with pending distribution deals. George is the Music Supervisor for "Grace and the Storm" a dramatic feature Directed by Christopher Baldi, and "Opposite Attraction" a dramatic feature Directed by Tom Wieschenberg.  Also on the horizon are two movies, "Forgiven" and "Looking For Nedrow", that should be making the festival circuit. George is the Director of Operations for the Freedom Film Society, which put on the just completed Fourth Annual Red Bank International Film Festival.

Recently, George has been busy editing "The BlueBelles", a documentary about a group of old women that help each other in good times and tragic times in the golden years of their lives. George also put the Cinecall Production crew together to film "Wits End" a short film in the sit-com style about a group of comedians that inherit a comedy club. Cinecall did the production and post audio for "White Trash Cribs" a spoof on some of the cable reality shows. George flew out to San Francisco with William DeVizia to do an Electronic Press Kit for the great Boz Scaggs. Some of the other EPKs that George has worked on with William include Bill Frisell / Floratone, Marc Cohn, Amy MacDonald, Norah Jones, The Love Willows, Priscella Ahn and various others.

This year, recent corporate gigs include Catholic Charities, Prudential, Bill Clinton's Woldwide Initiative.

George is a mentor for High Technology High School, which was recently rated as the number one high school in New Jersey and number seven high school in the United States. He is also on the Board of Advisors for video for Brookdale Community College. One of George's interns, Matt Larotonda, has done quite well. Matt graduated from American University and has interned for the great Tim Russert and The Washington Post and is now working for ABC news Washington bureau. Look for Matt to be on the air sometime in the not too distant fiture.
